Closing Story

From the day I moved back from London 4 years ago to take over the studio from Karla, I had invested in it prior when it was House of Yoga Ardkeen and when we lost the lease we moved to Johnstown, I hadn’t quite surrendered to leaving London but Karla leaving gave me that push to move home and look after this space .

I had a vision, I also had travelled the world and picked up a lot of ideas from studios in Bali, Maui, Los Angeles, some worked, others no. We as a team created a wonderful beautiful space where a lot of downtime and healing took place .

We had some fabulous Christmas lunches also. This city and community has an array of fantastic teachers. We are blessed with all the yoga and circles now being offered.

In the last few months I really started to realise that in order to really get the space profitable and make the Collective a successful business model it was going to take other avenues of revenue and dedication to business for another few years and I’m sorry to say I have been overwhelmed and not feeling like the task was my right path . I always treated it as a community centre but unfortunately to survive it had to be a viable business .

I walked into the journey in the middle of addiction and my recovery journey has been helped so much through this project and treating it as service, Seva. Karma yoga.

Be it the eclipse season, or just a further awakening, recently I had an inner knowing I longed for time out to self develop and work more on my recovery and myself as a woman.

I really hope you all understand I didn’t want to close the beautiful space I nurtured for 4 years, but I couldn’t hold it up anymore parallel to nourishing myself and my own hidden gifts .
I love all of you who have come through the doors of The Collective and shown such amazing dedication to yourself and the practice of yoga . Thank you . Thank you from my heart.
