Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples. Some of this knowledge was set to print a few thousand years ago, but much of it is inaccessible. The principles of many of the natural healing systems now familiar in the West have their roots in Ayurveda, including Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.
My partnership had just ended and I was heartbroken, I moved back home to Ireland and left all my life behind of the previous 10 years, AYURVEDA gave me daily gratitude and a new found focus on how to repair my mental health and physical health after years of too much partying in my 20’s. My body was depleted, my life force depleted but most of all my digestive system was broken. I suffered eating disorders from age 17 and developed a substance abuse problem in my 20s I had really managed to mess my health up. I needed deep gentle healing and AYURVEDA paved the way for me back to full vitality.

Human beings are constantly interacting with the universe and its elements and vice versa. We fill space, which gives us a place to live and function in all our myriad ways. We breathe the air, we drink the water , we keep ourselves warm with heat and light
Ayurveda states that everything in the universe is composed of energy, and this energy exsists in five different states of density , giving rise to the five elements.
These five elements are not to be interpreted literally but rather as metaphors that help us to understand the universe. They represent five qualities of energy that we can recognise as we experience them daily in our physical, mental and emotional lives.
