Who is this class for?
Yin Yoga is a slow meditative practice which targets deep connective tissues in the body including fascia, ligaments, bones, and joints. It incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine as meridian lines are targeted in the postures. Postures are typically seated or reclined and held for 3 to 5 minutes. The practice fosters stillness, mindfulness, and increased body awareness. Many people find it a useful gateway into meditation.
What to expect: Explanation of the theme/focus of the class. Opening check in to see how you feel and check ins throughout the practice. Breathwork. Yin postures – there are plenty of props available to support you throughout the practice. Relaxation to close.
The best bit: 15 – minute final relaxation to allow the body to integrate the practice.
